I have always wondered why God chose me to become His disciple and to follow Him. So many people hear the gospel but only some are captured by it and it becomes their whole life. I was asking God the other day in church…WHY ME? Why did I respond and why am I set free when others are not? I asked God why He chose me and He said to me.
“BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WOULD COME!!!”
That just rocked my world when He said that. Many are called but few are chosen. The ones that are chosen are the ones that God knows will come to Him when called. You see God called me out of this world and into Him because he knew I would come and that I would Love Him more than the world. Many people that are called are still in love with the world and themselves in the world and will not come. They will have to stay in the world until they are broken by it. They will have to stay in the world until they hate the world and themselves in it enough to cry out for something to save them and that something is Jesus. The sad thing is some never get to a point where they hate the world enough to want to be rescued from it.
In a prison cell down on my knees I finally got to that point where I told Jesus that I hated this world and I hated myself for what I had become in it. That is when God chose me!!!
Matthew 22:14 ~ “For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Now I am disciple of Jesus Christ and a witness to Him and I am no longer of this world. I have been called out of it and chosen to be a precious child of almighty God.
Acts 1:8 ~ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
“WON’T YOU COME TOO!” thus sayeth the Lord.
